Fast & Furious

Ok...It's not in the main news. However The Fast & Furious program did result in the so-called Mexican drug cartel getting weapons and using them to against border agents. Why would our government do something as crazy as that?

What if it was a way to escalate a phanthom war - the drug war into a new phase. A phase that would require - no demand - that we, the US, send billions more to a corrupt government intent on keeping the status quo of the rich ruling class and those that serve them.

More to come

Drug War or Civil War?

As I stood on a balcony in Puerto Escondito in Oaxaca, Mexico and looked out toward the Ocean a thought crossed my mind.
What's going on in Mexico. These people - humble, hardworking, diverse in many ways - what is happening to their country?

I drove down to Oaxaca, in the southern part of Mexico to absorb the vibe, the energy of the people for whom I dedicate my screenplay, 'Altered Truths' to. I entered Mexico in Sonora, drove through Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco then into Michocan, down through Guerrero and finally into Oaxaca, hugging the coast as much as I could. I saw beautiful roads, bridges, modern hotels and cities that seemed to be thriving.

As stood there a myriad of thoughts crossed my mind. I had been with friends, farmers in Sonora, business owners in Sinaloa, Resort Workers in Jalisco and Former Cartel Members in Michocan. I had a revelation.

Drugs exist in Mexico, but who is buying them in this economy? Most of the Marijuana, consumed in California is home grown, and it's quality is far superiour to the Acapulco Gold and the Sensimillion we used to get from Mexico. I don't see Marijuana as part of the drug problem. Which brings us to Cocaine. Is cocaine still the multi-billion dollar enterprise that existed when I lived in Miami in the 80's? Is it still flowing into the United States like it used to?

Does this drug war exist? Or is it a government fabrication to keep billions flowing into the pockets of Corrupt Government officials? If it is real, why do the Mexican people protest the police and military officers who are sent to protect them.

These are a few of the questions, my screenplay, 'Altered Truths' addresses.

Weapons are flowing southward from the United States and Northward from Centeral America into the hands of Teachers, Busboys, Farmworkers, Busdrivers, and business owners -- WHY????

Check back in a week and I will share more of my adventures and photos of my trip though 15 states in Mexico. Hear about the headless corpses of BRAVE TEEN SOLDIERS sent to fight a war for 3000 pesos a month!
3000 pesos WOW! That's $223 and 83 cents in United States currency!
